Volunteers will meet at the Relief Base (295 Walnut St.) in Elizabeth, NJ at 8:00 AM to begin outreach preparation. After the prep session, they will ride with New York City Relief staff to New York City Rescue Mission where they will come and help guests utilizing the mission. Areas of service include but are not limited to passing out food and drinks, helping our friends from the street pick clothing from the “clothing closet”, offer socks/toiletries and prayer, and engaging with them while they wait for life-care visits with our follow-up care staff. Volunteers may also walk the streets to love and care for our homeless friends and possibly connect them to resources offered by New York City Relief and New York City Rescue Mission. Afterwards, volunteers will return to The Relief Base, finishing around 3:30 PM.
